The Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors association has announced that it is accepting applications for the Ralph Flamminio Memorial Scholarship, a $3,000 cash award aimed at students from Pennsylvania interested in pursuing a career in journalism.
To qualify, you must be:
1) A Pennsylvania resident;
2) An academic freshman-through-senior at a four-year institution (you do not have to be a journalism major);
3) Determined to pursue a career in print journalism;
4) An excellent student;
5) Active on your campus newspaper or have print journalism experience.
To apply, please send a cover letter describing your experience in print journalism, your interest in the field and what you might contribute to the craft as a journalist. Also, the association would like to know something about yourself and your interests. Your application should include a college transcript, up to five of your favorite (non-returnable) clips and, if you choose, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or professional.

The winner will be announced by early May, and will be honored at the Pennsylvania Associated Press Managing Editors annual banquet later that month.
