The Washington Post recently merged its Style and Arts section. You can see the results at the NewsDesigner site.
Note the examples of what we discuss in graphics class:
- Modular design, emphasizing rectangular story structure where possible. Only inside pages violate this standard because of advertising restrictions.
- Large graphics, including one dominant graphic per page.
- Large headlines with a clean, eye-catching style.
- Nice use of white space, the often forgotten element of good design.
